Hi I’m Laura! I am a Wholeistic Living Ambassador

I love cooking. I love coming up with crazy out-of-the-box recipes. I LOVE my dogs. And I love helping people discover how amazing they can actually feel by tweaking their lifestyle and adding more plants on their plate.

As a Certified Plant-based Chef, Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Registered Yoga Instructor, I stand by the importance of bringing complete balance to all of my clients; head to toe, inside and out. My unique insight, expertise in nutrition and health and easy to follow guidelines make it easy to bring my clients into a state of optimal health & happiness and to help them feel vibrant and healthy.

Through the use of touch, pressure and education on self healing, I am a true believer of applying holistic principals to ones’ intentions on a daily basis. I believe that fresh, whole foods hold fabulous powers and are essential to feeling healthy and that inner and outer balance are key to a wholeistic life; this is what fuels my drive for continuous learning.

The inclusion of wholeistic principals into my life has turned out to be the avocado on my cake! I would love for you to join the wholeistic living club with me; together, we can make a change.

It was around 7 years ago that I discovered that my insides were broken.

I was officially diagnosed with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome with a side of Insulin Resistance. This discovery was supposed to be the explanation to why my weight gain had become a predominant part of my existence (along with the daily nausea, excruciating abdominal pain and the fact that I had yet to procreate). I was given a double daily dose of Metformin and sent on my way. The problem however, was that this medication was not really fixing anything for me; it was more of a temporary mask.

I was determined to find a way to ‘fix’ my new ailments without the use of drugs. I began researching anything and everything I could get my hands on. I learned about natural healing, supplements and the effects that nutrition could have to help my body heal. I began practicing Yoga and attended weekly Reiki sessions. I was changing my ‘diet’ and trying new foods. I was finally starting to feel alive again. I registered with the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to become a Holistic Nutritionist and continue on my incredible path. I wanted to be able to pass my knowledge onto others to help them heal using natural resources as well. I was recharged, re-energized and ready to take on the world; nothing could stop me.

About 4 months into my training I was sent for more testing. I was still having days where it took everything out of me to get out of bed. The nausea was returning with full force and the abdominal pain was at an all-time high. The test results came back with the diagnosis of Endometriosis. I had to re-vamp (again) my entire lifestyle. It was tough at first but the changes that I noticed in my body seemed to happen almost overnight. I dropped nearly 25lbs that had felt like cement in my shoes over the last few years. I was able to make it through an entire day without feeling nauseous- I had found natural ways to feel amazing without the use of drugs or fad diets. I even ran my first 5km! But I wasn’t quite done learning yet (I’m not sure I will ever be ‘done’).

I enrolled myself into training with Rouxbe Cooking School and became a Certified Plant-based Chef. My determination to learn and teach has never been stronger. I am a sponge and I am looking to fill this brain with as much information as humanly possible. I want to be able to explain to people in normal words what can help them. I want to be able to provide the same feelings of elation to others when they realize that there is hope. I want to be a nutritional superhero and to be able to help provide complete balance through all of ones senses.
