During the last few months i’ve been pimping out my balls. Everyone seems to love my balls; I get many requests for them. I like to change it up sometimes when it comes to my balls- i’m always up to trying something new.
Today at Yoga Teacher Training at The Clarity Centre I brought some balls for a snack and shared with a couple of my fellow yogis. the reactions were great…I of course urged them to come on over here to my blog to get the recipe which until just now was not on here! So without further ado….
Soak some nuts overnight. I like to use Almonds and sometimes throw in some cashews or walnuts or pecans …you get the point. Try about 1-2 cups depending on how many balls you want to make.
In your food processor (you could maybe do this in a high speed blender as well) blend them up but don’t grind too much, you still want it chunky.
Add in some fun things; as many varieties as you’d like!
- A handful of dried cherries (or any dried fruit)
- A handful of coconut
- Chocolate Chips
Then add in some maple syrup or other sweetener, I think I add around 2 tbls or so.
Thrown in a few dates to add to the sweetness as well.
Turn on that processor again and blend until it’s the consistency you like and starts to all stick together.
If it’s not sticking….add more maple syrup.
Roll into balls OR into bars.
*Fun Tip- wetting your hands before you roll the balls will stop it from sticking to your hands but not from sticking together.
All this goodness in 5 minutes or so. Pop them in the freezer and grab them when you’re in the mood.
