Probiotics 101 + Genuine Health Advanced Gut Health Review

in Uncategorized

Want to know a super kinda gross fact? Our bodies are more bacteria than human! Kinda gross right?!

There are up to 2,000 species of micro-organisms in our gut. Things like bacteria, viruses, parasites and yeast have built tiny little cozy homes in there and let me tell you, they like it. So how do we keep those little buggers under control? Well, probiotics are a great tool.

And what are probiotics you might ask? Probiotics are live micro-organisms and are often referred to as the good bacteria. Probiotics promote a healthy digestive tract and really support the immune system. And since 60-80% of your immune system is in your gut, well it’s a no-brainer to add probiotics to your daily routine.

Ok so what’s the best way to add probiotics to your diet? Well, you can add fermented foods like sauerkraut and kimchi, miso and tempeh and even kombucha. (side note: prebiotic foods such as ocean-based plants like chlorella, blue-green algae and spirulina provide nourishment to the existing bacteria in your gut and therefore improve your digestive health)

Genuine Health Advance Gut Probiotics-Goodness MeAnother fantastic way to ensure you are feeding your gut in the best way is by taking a probiotic supplement. Genuine Health, one of my favorite companies, recently released their new Advanced Gut Health Probiotic Supplements. So when I was offered a chance to give them a try I jumped at it. After all, Genuine Health is the leader in Gut Health so I knew these babies would be incredible. (I also LOVE adding the Genuine Health fermented vegan protein+ to my morning smoothies…the CHOCOLATE is incredible!!!!!!)

One thing that I really love about these probiotics, besides the 15-strain formula for maximum impact, is that the capsule is vegan and plastic free! You’d be so surprised at how much plastic is in those little pills you take on the regular. You know what else is awesome about these probiotics?

  • Vegan
  • GMO-free
  • Gluten & Soy free

I also really like that these caps don’t need to be refrigerated so that I can take them with me when I travel, which is typically when the body is at it’s highest level for stress and unbalanced nutritional state.

It’s been almost 3 weeks now and I can honestly say the 50 billion CFU’s are doing my body good! I’ve really noticed a smoother morning routine and a lot less in the surprise department. But the biggest change I’ve noticed is bloating, or lack of. I almost always have bloating by the end of the day no matter what I am eating and it has been significantly less lately. I typically just pop one in the morning with my breakfast and i’m set for the day. Once I’ve completed this advance round and whipped my gut into shape, i’ll be switching over to the 15 billion CFU daily tabs.

So overall, I am super excited about these little caps of bacteria and my gut is most definitely in love as well!
